15ouncesgarbanzo beans, canned with liquid
1/2cupcouscous, or bulgar wheat
1/4cupraisins
1teaspooncoriander, ground
1/2teaspoonturmeric, ground
1/2teaspooncinnamon, ground
1/2teaspoonginger, ground
14teaspoonscumin, ground
3cupswater

Directions:

Parsnips may be substituted for the kohlrabi.

Serve the couscous separately, if desired.

Combine all the ingredients in a large saucepan. Bring to a boil, lower the heat, and simmer until the vegetables are tender, about 30 minutes.
